F lint Associates is a Cape Town based architectural practice offering a comprehensive range of services. Formed early in 1995, our firm comprises a group of like-minded professionals with a long history of working together, intent on maintaining an efficient and economical studio, equipped to undertake the design and execution of building projects of various sizes.

Ivan R Flint
Principle Architect | B.ARCH (UCT) PR.ARCH MIARCH CIA RIBA
Born in Johannesburg in 1948, Ivan spent his primary school years in the seaside suburb of Camps Bay. In 1963 his family moved to Stellenbosch, where he matriculated from Paul Roos Gymnasium in its centenary year 1966.
After serving in both lower and upper decks of the SA Navy between 1967 and 1969 he studied architecture at University of Cape Town, and graduated with the degree of B Arch from the in 1975.
Became a registered architect with the South African Council for Architects in 1977, and in 1986 admitted to the Royal Institute of British Architects.
In 1995 founded the practice of Flint Associates Architects.
Sally Hugo-Hamman
Principle Architect | B.ARCH (UCT) PR.ARCH MIARCH CIA RIBA ARCUK
Born in Cape Town in 1961. Attended Rustenburg Girls’ Junior and Senior Schools and then completed the B.A.S. and B. Architecture degrees at the University of Cape Town.
Sally has taken the role of project leader in developments ranging from multi-storey office and apartment buildings to restoration work, both in Cape Town and London. Apart from her involvement with the design and production aspects of projects, Sally’s particular interest lies in the administration of building contracts.
Marco Scheepers

Born in Mossel Bay, Western Cape in 1984. Completed secondary education in 2002 at Point High in Mossel Bay and then obtained his Degree in Architectural Technology at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2008. Commenced his professional career working in the Flint Associates studio under Andries van der Walt.

Gael Scott

Born in Zambia in 1962. Completed secondary education at Wynberg Girls High in Cape Town and then obtained B.Arch degree at the University of Cape Town in 1990. Commenced her professional career working with Ivan while he was a partner in MVBF&P.
